Hobby-Expo Harassment Policy
Hobby-Expo is dedicated to providing a safe, positive, and harassment-free experience for everyone. Disruptive behavior, inappropriate or unlawful conduct, and harassment in any form will not be tolerated. All participants involved with the Hobby-Expo are expected to conduct themselves in a safe, responsible, non-disruptive, and lawful manner, and understand that violation of show policies may result in expulsion from the show without refund. If you need to report a violation you may do so by visiting a Hobby-Expo staff member or show volunteer.
What Constitutes Harassment?
Harassment is defined as a course of conduct which annoys, threatens, intimidates, alarms, or puts a person in fear of their safety. Harassment is unwanted, unwelcomed behavior that demeans, threatens or offends an individual, or group. Harassing behavior may include, but is not limited to, offensive verbal comments [related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion], sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, unwelcome sexual attention, and false accusations of harassment. Attendees asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. Hobby-Expo reserves the right to eject anyone who violates show policies.
Issues involving a Show volunteer should be reported directly to a Hobby-Expo staff member.
Please provide a name, badge name, or physical description of the person(s) involved when reporting an event. We collect this information so we can act on any unfortunate incidents during the event to make everyone’s experience a positive one! While we are primarily concerned with preventing harassment in Hobby-Expo space during the show, we will also respond to situations that might occur outside that show space, for example in local shops, bars, restaurants, or on the street, or in online contexts.
